What Is Somatic Therapy?
Somatic therapy is a body-based approach to mental health that works with the connection between the mind and the nervous system. Instead of only talking about emotions, we tune into how those emotions show up in your body—through tension, shutdown, restlessness, or pain.
In somatic therapy, your body isn’t the problem. It’s the map.
This approach helps you:
Recognize how your body responds to stress or trauma
Learn to regulate your nervous system and come back to a sense of safety

Tuning into physical sensations and internal cues
Tracking nervous system states (fight, flight, freeze, fawn)
Breathwork, grounding, and resourcing techniques
Movement or postural awareness (no yoga mat required)
Connecting emotional patterns to bodily responses
