About Alyssa
Alyssa believes therapy can be a place where you slow down, feel genuinely seen, and start making sense of the parts of yourself or your story that have been harder to understand. She works with adults and couples, offering therapy in both English and Spanish, and has a particular interest in grief and bereavement, trauma, relationships, and the experiences that can come with being first-generation.
A word that deeply resonates with Alyssa is sonder, the realization that every person you encounter is carrying a full, complicated inner world that you may never completely see. That idea shapes the way she thinks about therapy, too. She approaches people without making assumptions, knowing there is usually much more underneath the surface than what is immediately visible.
Alyssa believes there’s usually a much bigger story behind what brings someone to therapy. The way we relate, cope, grieve, and understand ourselves doesn’t develop in a vacuum. She helps clients explore that bigger picture, including the relationships, family dynamics, cultural experiences, and losses that have shaped who they are today.

Alyssa’s Approach
Alyssa’s approach is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed, with a focus on attachment and the connection between mind and body. She is EMDR-trained and incorporates somatic work to help clients move beyond simply understanding their patterns intellectually and begin noticing how those experiences continue to show up emotionally, relationally, and physically.
She believes healing doesn’t require forcing yourself to “move on” from difficult experiences or becoming a completely different version of yourself. Instead, her work helps clients better understand what they’re carrying, reconnect with themselves, and build a greater sense of safety and trust both internally and in their relationships.
Above all, Alyssa wants therapy to feel like a place where you don’t have to have everything figured out before you walk through the door. You can bring the grief that still catches you off guard, the relationship pattern you keep repeating, the family or cultural expectations you’re trying to untangle, or simply the feeling that something isn’t quite right. You can start there.
