Licensed Therapist

Michelle Saltzer, MA, LPC-Associate

Orange X symbol on a black background

Michelle works with individuals and couples who feel anxious, emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected, or uncertain about what they truly want for themselves and their relationships. Many of her clients are thoughtful, insightful people who appear highly capable on the outside while privately struggling with self-doubt, relationship difficulties, dissatisfaction, or a lingering sense that something feels unfulfilled. They may find themselves repeating painful relational patterns, struggling to communicate their needs, or feeling torn between responsibility, desire, and authenticity.

Michelle helps clients better understand the emotional and relational patterns shaping their lives so they can move toward greater clarity, connection, and alignment. Together, clients explore patterns shaped by anxiety, trauma, childhood experiences, and relational wounds that continue to influence how they think, respond, communicate, and connect with others.

Her work often focuses on cycles such as people-pleasing, self-criticism, emotional reactivity, withdrawal, conflict avoidance, and difficulty expressing needs or boundaries. Michelle approaches these patterns with compassion and curiosity, helping clients build greater emotional awareness, authenticity, and self-trust rather than shame or self-blame.

Michelle is an especially good fit for individuals and couples seeking deeper self-understanding, more connected relationships, and lasting emotional change. Her practice is LGBTQ+ affirming and welcoming to people of all racial, ethnic, cultural, and relationship identities.

Michelle is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate supervised by Rachel Bailey, LPC-S.

Michelle’s Approach

Michelle’s approach is integrative, insight-oriented, and informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment theory, relational therapy, and emotion-focused work. She helps clients explore the emotional and relational patterns shaping how they experience themselves, others, and the world around them. Her work is grounded in the belief that many emotional reactions and coping strategies developed adaptively and deserve curiosity rather than shame or self-judgment.

In therapy, Michelle integrates cognitive, emotional, somatic, and relational interventions to help clients better understand themselves and create lasting change. This may include exploring attachment dynamics, identifying protective patterns and underlying beliefs, strengthening communication and boundaries, and developing greater emotional awareness and regulation. Her work is trauma-informed and focused on helping clients build a stronger sense of safety, connection, and internal stability.

Michelle’s style is warm, grounded, collaborative, and gently challenging, creating a space where clients can explore difficult experiences honestly while feeling supported toward meaningful and sustainable change.
