About Lauren B.

Lauren works with survivors, self-judgers, deep feelers and thinkers…. People who are insightful and capable, although they may not feel that way. She has spent her life as a helper and has always believed in the importance of people’s stories. Her therapeutic style reflects that, seeking out ways to support clients in understanding their patterns and rooted in the idea that everyone deserves to feel like they belong. Her lived experience as a neurodivergent woman has shaped how she shows up in her role as a psychotherapist, which is to say she is a unique blend of deeply empathetic and irreverent. To her, working with clients to stabilize enough so they can identify their capacity and plot progress is a privilege.

She strongly believes that while trauma rewires the brain, so does healing. In her work, that looks like helping people recognize that they are more than what has happened to them. Trauma can be a part of clients’ stories, a place to honor as they move forward rather than just an obstacle to overcome.

Lauren is a Licensed Master in Social Work (# 116101) in Texas

Lauren B.’s Approach

Lauren’s approach is eclectic and client-centered, believing that everyone deserves customized and trauma-informed care. If she is pinned down and forced to pick some therapeutic favorites, she would tell you it is not uncommon to see bits and pieces from the following in her therapy room: neurodivergent affirming DBT, narrative therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindful self-compassion. Trained as a social worker, Lauren likes to work with systems and believes strongly that any issue a client is facing merits looking at holistically.
